"Here, I wanted to show the sneaky side of cats. Usually they slip through the shadows toward their prey or hunt at night.
Seldom do you see them silhouetted in strong light, where other
animals would spot them from miles away."
And here we see Coheleach's skill in painting a boulder-strewn
landscape.
"Sometimes it can be difficult to paint rocks and boulders that
are believable. In this case it was fairly easy because I had
good reference. My first step was to paint their forms, then the
highlights and shaded areas, and finally the texture. In some areas I used a sponge to dab on paint; in others I spattered it
on with a brush. But as I added texture, I was careful to maintain the same highlights and shade."
